Hermes Sargent Bates is Named a Best Company to Work for in Texas
Dallas Law Firm Recognized for the Third Year

(Dallas, Texas) – Dallas-based law firm Hermes Sargent Bates, LLP (“HSB”) was recently named as one of the 75 Best Companies to Work for in Texas. HSB is one of only three law firms to make the select list. This third annual program was created by the Texas Association of Business (TAB), the Texas State Council of the Society for Human Resource Management (TSC-SHRM), and Best Companies Group.

HSB is honored to be included on this prestigious list for a third year in a row. HSB advanced from #41 overall in 2007 to #15 in 2008 on the medium-sized company list. As the largest firm in Texas with a female name partner, HSB’s leaders recognize that the firm’s success depends on the quality of their attorneys and staff.

At a luncheon in Austin on January 25, Texas Governor Rick Perry honored the 75 Best Companies to Work for in Texas. The actual rankings will be published in a special advertorial section in the February 2008 issue of TEXAS MONTHLY.

This survey and awards program was designed to identify, recognize and honor the best employers in Texas, benefiting the state's economy, its workforce and businesses. To be considered for participation, companies had to fulfill the following eligibility requirements:
- Be a for-profit, not-for-profit business or government entity;
- Be a publicly or privately held business;
- Have a facility in Texas;
- Employ at least 25 people in Texas;
- Be in business a minimum of 1 year.

Companies from across the state entered the two-part process to determine the Best Companies to Work for in Texas. The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated company's workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final ranking. Best Companies Group managed the overall registration and survey process in Texas with assistance from ModernThink LLC, who analyzed the data and used their expertise to determine the final rankings.
